DESCRIPTION: Elgin Watch Co., Elgin, Illinois, grade 156, 16 size, 21 jewels, stem wind and set, adjusted, ornately damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, gold jewel settings, gold timing screws, gold wheel train, and Moseley micrometric regulator in an 18 karat, yellow gold, engine turned and engraved hunting case with presentation on gold cuvette, and Arabic numeral, outer red 5-minute markers, double sunk white enamel dial, plum colored steel Breguet style hands, serial #6463565, 115.8g TW, c1895.
CONDITION: CASE: Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case; Engine turning / engraving with minor wear; Engine turning worn smooth at pendant, front cover; Crown worn; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Very good. HANDS: Good. MOVEMENT PLATES: A few minor marks on plate, otherwise very good; Specks of dirt / dust. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks).
